Baby
Jake bounces back for more magical adventures
Award-winning kids indie,
Darrall Macqueen has been commissioned by CBeebies to produce
a second series of the hit pre school show Baby Jake.
The series mixes live action and 2D
photographic animation to bring to life the magical adventures of a baby
called Jake.
The youngest of 10 children, Baby
Jake lives in a windmill where he’s a much-loved, cute, happy gurgling
boy. His 6 year old brother Isaac – the show’s narrator - translates
all of Baby Jake’s giggles and gurgles, opening the door to an imaginary
world where he sings, dances and baby-talks with his animal friends;
Pengy Quin the Penguin, Sydney the Monkey, Nibbles the Rabbit and the
Hamsternauts.
The new series introduces brand new
ways for Baby Jake to get around on his imaginary
escapades: Diggery the Digger, Scamp the Scooter and even a flying polar
bear all join the fun, as he plays Musical Statues with the Hamsternauts
in space, chases a runaway penguin egg with Pengy Quin, dances ballet
with Nibbles the Rabbit and discovers fireflies with Sydney the Monkey.
Maddy Darrall, Joint Managing
Director, Darrall Macqueen says, “It’s great to be bringing back
Baby Jake and his friends for a host of new adventures. The first
series was a huge hit, charming parents and children alike and this time
round we’re taking him on even more beautiful and playful imaginary
journeys that we know they’ll love”.
Baby Jake is a Darrall
Macqueen production in association with JAM Media. The series was
commissioned for CBeebies by Kay Benbow. It is produced by Maddy Darrall
and executive produced by Billy Macqueen for Darrall Macqueen and
Catherine McAllister for CBeebies.
