Bacon Connoisseurs’ Week is a
chance for all to celebrate bacon! A tasty ingredient that is great in
many more dishes than just the full English breakfast or the bacon
Producers of premium bacon across
the country will be inviting people to taste the difference with their
excellent bacon and to recognise the value of this household staple.
Bacon Connoisseurs week will culminate with a competition to find the
winning cures; maple, smoked or sweet?
For those of us who do still relish
the thought of a bacon sandwich on a Saturday morning, whichever cure
you prefer, here are Baco’s tips for the perfect bacon sandwich...
your rashers on a grill pan lined with BacoFoil Extra Thick (to catch
the excess fat and to give your bacon that slightly crispy edge). The
thicker foil gives greater durability when cooking.
Lightly toast your
fresh bread under the grill and layer with your sizzling rashers.
simply add a dollop of your favourite condiment or for something a
little more substantial, tear up some fresh iceberg lettuce, roughly
chop a beefsteak tomato and add a spoon of mayonnaise for the perfect
BLT. Brie can be added for a naughty but tasty addition.
the fat has cooled, remove the used BacoFoil Extra Thick carefully from
the grill pan and put straight in the bin... breakfast is always best
with little mess.
