Halloween Fun, How to Carve a Pumpkin and more

As the ghosts and ghouls come out to play this Halloween and the doorbell chimes non-stop with endless ‘trick-or-treaters’, make sure you follow these top tips for a super spooky Halloween night! 

• Creepy costumes for little critters! - Plenty of fun can be had with just some coloured card. Get creative and make witches’ hats, cat masks and devil horns
• Set a scaring scene – Use red or green light bulbs to give an eerie glow to the room and task your children to make cardboard tombstones and bats to decorate the walls

  • Slice off the lid with care as you will want to re-use it
  • Use a large spoon to remove the middle of the pumpkin leaving a 3cm wall for where you want the face to go
  • Draw the face on paper and then tape it to the pumpkin, use a skewer to mark holes along the lines of the drawing, when you remove the paper you will have a dotted line of the face
  • Carve along the dotted line using a sawing action and different sized knives if needed
  • Tea lights are great for lighting up your pumpkin, make a small hole in the lid to allow smoke to escape
