Totz2teens - Voss Water ReviewVoss Water

A friend and I were discussing bottled water varieties and tap water.  She was telling me about Voss and she felt that it was really thirst quenching.  A nice taste and the bottle was nice.  (being a woman we are never swayed by design - Are we?)

She kindly bought me a bottle to try.  I have the 800ml Glass Still Water Bottle.

The bottle itself is simple and crisp.  The lid is plastic and to me looks like it is off a spray can!  Not sure that is actually the design they are going for but hey!

I poured myself a glass and I have to say it looks so clear.  Water generally looks clear but this is really defined and crisp.  The flavour is really very pleasant.  No funny after tastes.

Having it out of the fridge meant it was cold but I was amazed at how cold it has stayed as it is a warm day.

Was Voss better than any other water?  Well yes and no.  I think the taste is much better than Highland Spring Water as I do tend to find that has a taste to it.

Voss artesian water is not filtered or treated; its unprocessed nature and naturally low presence of total dissolved solids (TDS) give it a fresh, clean taste. I agree with this.  It does give a very fresh, clean taste. I actually feel like my mouth is clean.  My teeth are smooth

II have cooled tap water in a glass bottle and compared this way.  My tap water is not clear.  There are definitely bits floating about.  Having taken a mouth full it sort of feels furry.  Almost like a film is coating my tongue and gums.  My tongue is not sliding as easily over my teeth.

I seriously had not thought that a water could give me a different opinion but the VOSS was a more pleasant experience.

Is it better than tap water?  ermmm - Well yes I suppose it is.  But is it worth paying a lot for.  I am not convinced it is but it certainly tasted more pure.

I love seeing companies focus their marketing.  Using the word Artisan - Artisan (when talking about food and drink) means "made in a traditional or non mechanized way using high quality ingredients.

Voss Brand Values

Purity: VOSS is bottled at an artesian source in Southern Norway producing a naturally pure water.

Distinction: VOSS, with its iconic design, is served on the tables, in the homes and in the rooms of the most distinctive places worldwide.

Responsibility: VOSS is proud of its ongoing commitment to the Voss Foundation and maintaining 100% carbon neutrality.

I think what helps Voss sell and sustain its place within the marketplace is actually the Voss Foundation who are dedicated to providing access to clean water, sanitation and hygiene as a means to enable community-driven development in Sub-Saharan Africa and raising awareness of the ongoing need in the region.

Since 2008, Voss Foundation has built 118 clean water access points and 462 sanitation facilities in 7 countries in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Would I drink Voss again.  Yes.  If I had to pick a water that I was paying for then I would choose VOSS.
